Guests get shaken and stirred at charity cocktail event

Bradford & Bingley International (BBI) recently held a charity evening with a difference at their Douglas offices in support of Macmillan Isle of Man.

George Campbell, BBI's Community Affairs Manager explains: "Macmillan approached us and asked us to hold a coffee morning on their behalf in the branch but we decided we wanted to go one step further. We took our inspiration from the most recent James Bond film and held a Friday evening cocktail party with a twist."

Guests were invited to make a donation for each cocktail they sampled, based upon the complexity involved in mixing it, and how much they enjoyed it. £350 was raised on the night, which was matched by Abbey Charitable Foundation bringing the total donation to £700.

"The evening was a great success, everyone really enjoyed themselves and we would like to thank our guests for their generosity" said Mr Campbell. "The work carried out by Macmillan on the Island provides much needed help to people who really need it and we are delighted to support them through this fund-raising event."
